Crazy Times

This past week I've worked in the little kid's day care. Here are some of the beautiful faces I got to see everyday:

Memorial Drive UMC
of Houston, Texas was the mission team here this week. Honestly, I would never be able to choose the perfect words to describe how amazing this group has been. Everyone was so welcoming and open to Anna and myself. Here are some pictures of their group and the work they've done:

Barbara painting one of many coats on a door frame:

Chris putting in a ceiling fan:

The freshly painted house they worked on:

Joe hammering a nail into a beam:

Leslie putting in the tin roof with the help of Darrell. Darrell works at Cookson Hills Center!

Joe, who is actually one of three people who came from Giddings, Texas, working with a beam:

Memorial Drive gave Melody, Darrell's wife, a prayer shawl:

Memorial Drive also gave Anna and I prayer shawls last night! That meant so much to me and I am so grateful for all the love they showed us.

For the 4th of July, I tagged along with Memorial Drive. We ate at Fin and Feather.

It was a buffet style dinner:

We had entertainment. They danced to Mambo Italiano by Rosemary Clooney:

After dinner, one of the owners of Fin and Feather invited us to his house to watch the fireworks over the lake:

The whole group...I messed up the focus:

They're engaged! Aren't they cute?

Anyway, I guess you could say that's been my week in pictures.

So, Wednesday night I talked to my prayer partner, Charles. He and I are definitely on the same page with a lot of things. As we talked about the things we want to do in the future, like possibly the Mission Intern Program, I realized that there is so much I want to do! While I am thoroughly enjoying where I am this summer, I am very excited about the many opportunities I will have.

God is good.

Peace,

Meredith
